Artcite Inc., Windsor’s Artist-Run Centre for the Contemporary Arts, is pleased to present our Summer Art Fest 2016. From July 29 – August 13, local artists will be showcasing their new works in 16 galleries, businesses and other spaces in and around the downtown Windsor core. SAF 2016 features installations, photography, print media, painting, video art, experimental music, film screenings and workshops, a sketch night, large-scale public murals by international and emerging regional and international artists. Also,join us for all the additional Summer Art Fest events happening throughout the festival!

When: Summer Art Fest runs July 29 – August 13, 2016. SAF Satellite gallery & Artcite Inc. hours are Wed – Sat, 12-5pm (SAF Gallery is open late till 7pm on Thursday and Friday)

July 29 – Aug 6 Battlegrounds: bodies + land, justice + law @ Artcite, Inc. Curated by Michelle Soulliere, group exhibition featuring activist works by Canadian and US artists and collectives: cj fleury (Wakefield, PQ), Justseeds Artist Cooperative (USA/Canada/Mexico), Norman Grondin (Windsor, ON), Renée Trépanier (Windsor, ON), Benjamin McInnis (Windsor, ON) & Maggie McGuire (Detroit, MI) (FREE admission)

Aug 6 SAF Walking Tours (meet @ Artcite, Inc.) Approx. 90 minute tours depart Artcite at
1 and 4 pm (FREE admission)

Aug 9-12: Save Ojibway Fundraiser – Native Plant & ‘Justseeds Artist Cooperative’ Screen Print Sale @ Artcite, Inc., 1-5 pm

Aug 11 Interactive Poetry / Video Workshop – 4 – 6 pm – with Ephraim Asili
(Annandale-on-Hudson, NY) and Bloomfield House Founder Teajai Travis (Windsor).
Film Screening 8 – 10 pm with Ephraim Asili – Artcite Inc. (FREE admission for both events) – workshop and screening presented by Momentum Film & Video Collective, Media City and Artcite Inc.
